Willie James Clark born on March 25, 1939, in Laurel, Mississippi was the 5th child born to the late King David Clark of Laurence, MS, and Sarah Francis (Hobson-Clark) Porter of Newton, MS. He departed this life on March 3, 2023.
Willie loved to play guitar, sing, and joke with his family. Willie was a retired veteran of the United States Army. He was a chemist serving at the Pentagon and much of his service was classified. He lived very discretely with a gentle, pleasant, and kind demeanor.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents: Sarah Francis and King David Clark; siblings: Emma Louis Harrison, Mary Elizabeth Pruitt, Jackie Robinson Clark, Charles Shelby Clark, and Shelia Maria Chester; half-sibling: Birdia Clark; and sons: Clinton Clark and David Clark.
Willie leaves behind his 2 surviving blood siblings: Ellis Lee Clark and Larry Earl Clark, 5 half-siblings in Kentucky: Rachel Clark, Doris Clark-Sarr, David Wayne Clark, Mark Anthony Clark, and Marion Andre Clark; granddaughter: Maudiana Clark of Gary, Indiana; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 18, at 2:00 p.m. at R. Mason Brothers Memorial Chapel, 1001 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville, IN. Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time.
