William O’Neal Jonigan, Jr., affectionately known as Bill, was born to the Mabel Smith Johnican and William O’Neal Johnican, Sr. who preceded him in death. Bill accepted Christ at an early age and attended Mt. Pleasant Grove Church in Hickley, Ky.
He attended J. W. Millon High School in Earlington, Ky and later joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served his country 4 years. Upon honorable discharge, he returned to Earlington and later moved to Gary, IN to work at US Steel for 40 years as a Maintenance Machinist.
Retirement afforded Bill the ability to play his favorite sport Golf and travel. Bill became a member of Line Street Church of Christ, where he attended until his health no longer allowed him to. He enjoyed visits from the Pastor and members. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his two brothers Franklin and Clearance Jonican.
He is survived by daughter, Debra (James Jr) White, sons, Troy Kimbrew and William Bryant Jonigan. Stepson, Keith Norris; stepdaughter, Freda (Bobby) Lewis; grandchildren, James White III, Kimberly Kimbrew, Konesha Davis, and Shantae Lewis; great-granddaughter, Chaniyah Nelson; sister Charlene (Terrance) Minor; and a host of family and friends.
