VaShawn "VV" Van Dyke Johnson

VaShawn “VV” Van Dyke Johnson, 31, of Newburgh, Indiana was born on July 4, 1992 and sadly left us on May 7, 2024.  Vashawn had a passion for traveling, hosting, parties, make-up, cooking, eating, taking naps, being a fashionista for style, and hanging out with her “dog brother” Gizmo. She loved to talk your head off about anything.  If she loved you, she loved you to no end and she made a big impact in all of our lives. For such a small person who feared no one. She was a firecracker… Fly High Baby!

Vashawn was preceded in death by her grandparents: Raymond “Pig” Johnson and Emperia “Peewee” Johnson, and her “bestest" cousin, Antonio Bushrod, Jr.

She is survived by her daughters: Egypt and Rome Van Dyke; parents: Yorel Petrie and Danielle Johnson; grandparents: LeRoy Wallace and Mary Petrie; siblings: De’Mercedes Pryor, Keanu Kemp, Sheena Wallace, Yaweh Petrie, Tyeesha Petrie, LeAdron, and LeOndre Petrie; her favorite uncle: William “June” Oliver; favorite cousin: Rayshaad Bushrod; best friend: Joelle Curry; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who truly love and will miss her.
