Shirley Ann Robinson

Shirley Ann Robinson, 75, was born in Evansville, IN on July 1, 1945 to Gladys Taylor and C. R. Rhodes. She entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 14, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital.

She was married to the late Raymond Robinson. At an early age, she joined Dove Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Anthony Brooks. Later in life, she joined Memorial Baptist Church under the guidance of the Reverend Dr. Adrian Brooks , Sr. Shirley never had children but reared her sister Mary’s children: James Jr., LaShonda, and Quanta.
Anybody who knew Shirley, knew she was feisty, plain spoken, and sometimes overly spoken. She and her sister would go shopping, grocery shopping and always do sister things together.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Raymond Robinson; mother: Gladys Taylor; and father: C.R. Rhodes.

Shirley leaves behind her sister: Mary Black of Henderson, KY; nieces: Jacqueline Tyus of Owensboro, KY, LaShonda Black of Atlanta, Jamesetta Spicer of Evansville; nephews: James (Nicole) Black, Jr. Mike Mays of Evansville; Quanta (Stephanie) Black of Nashville, TN; and a host of cousins and friends. Shirley will be dearly missed by so many more.
