Sheila L. Moody

July 13, 1958 — April 23, 2025

Sheila L. Moody departed this life on April 23, 2025. She was born July 13, 1958 in Dyersburg, Tennessee to Elbert Moody, Sr. and Ola Mae (Quinn) Moody. Sheila graduated from Francis J. Reitz High School and worked in a number of different jobs throughout her lifetime. Most recently, she provided home health care services as an employee of RESCARE.

Sheila was baptized into Christ at the Line Street Church of Christ and recently repented and was reconciled to the Lord. Sheila was a very creative person and had a keen eye for decorating and organizing. She was meticulous with her appearance and loved to dress. In her free time, she loved sewing, driving around in her red Cadillac, and visiting friends and family. Sheila loved her family and made it a point to attend as many Quinn family reunions as possible (even if she was broke). She always knew that if she got there, her family would take care of the rest!

Sheila was preceded in death by her loving son, Tairan McBaine, parents, sister, Rita Gail Moody-Waddell, and brother-in-law, Scott Maley. Leaving to cherish her memory are: her son, Pagerick Moody; brothers, Larry Williams (Patricia), Elbert Moody, Jr. (April), Michael Moody, and Kenneth Moody; and sisters, Bonita Stewart (Jerome) and Carol Moody-Maley. She had eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sheila had an especially close relationship with her cousin Darlene Thomas, who travelled from Flint, MI to Evansville, IN to spend time with her in her final days. She is also survived by her loving friend and caregiver, Anthony (Tony) Tapp.

Sheila’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to the AMAZING 6th floor nursing staff in the 6400 Unit at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital who provided excellent care for her during her final days. In addition, a heart-felt thank you to the LOVING staff at Heart-to-Heart Hospice Care for the kindness and support shown to the family during this difficult period.
