Rose Mary Taylor

June 23, 1960 — June 16, 2025

Rose Mary Taylor, born on June 23, 1960, in Henderson, Kentucky, to Mary Shelton Taylor and Clarence “Jimmy Lee” Taylor, departed this life peacefully on June 16, 2025. As we gather to celebrate her remarkable existence, we reflect on a life thoughtfully dedicated to fostering growth, compassion, and joy in those around her.

For nearly three decades, Rose devoted herself to the education and well-being of students with special needs within the Henderson County School system. Her unwavering commitment was exemplified through the love and encouragement she offered her students, cheering them on and celebrating their successes, no matter how small. Rose's generous spirit extended beyond her classroom, as she actively participated in various staff activities, programs, and celebrations, leaving a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Rose exhibited a remarkable work ethic, balancing two jobs out of a deep-seated desire to serve others. She formerly worked at Colonial Assisted Living, where she cared for residents and their families with love and compassion. Until her death, she continued to dedicate herself to caring for others at the JFK Community Center, where she nurtured children and fostered their development. Her selfless commitment to others was truly admirable and is a testament to her character

A passionate gardener, Rose derived immense pleasure from nurturing her yard and cultivating an array of vibrant blooms. Her fascination with solar lights illuminated not only her garden but also her warmhearted nature as she proudly showcased her cherished flowers to all visitors. In her final year, one of her most fulfilling endeavors was helping her daughter, Sierra, secure a home through the Habitat for Humanity project that brought both joy and pride to Rose’s heart. She expressed profound gratitude to Habitat and all those involved in making this dream a reality for both her and Sierra.

Her faith was deeply rooted within the Greater Norris Chapel Baptist Church, where she actively engaged with her church family, and she had previously been a long-standing member of Race Creek Baptist Church. Rose cherished the bonds formed within her community, making lasting memories throughout her life. Road trips and vacations with her sister Clara were a source of joy, and Rose approached every opportunity to visit family and celebrate life’s milestones with enthusiasm and warmth.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, symbolized by a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Rose is survived by her beloved daughter, Sierra Parkman; her siblings, Clara Bertinelli, Glen Taylor (Valarie), Carol Taylor, Desiree Tramill-Spencer (Arthur Jr.), Renata Taylor, and Theresa Hawes; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, including Damien Bertinelli, Tia Bertinelli Martin (Richard), Jarel Sanders, Yonah, Caleb, Karis, and Maleah Taylor, Angelica Tramil, Allegria Taylor, Aieshea Flores, Isabella Bertinelli, Lincoln, Brooks, Mercer, and Hayes Martin, Taylor and Tyler Key, alongside Jordan Armstead, Dezmond, Arlana, and Armari Spencer, and many other cherished family members, friends, colleagues, students, and neighbors who were touched by her grace.

As we bid farewell to a remarkable woman, we remember Rose Mary Taylor as a beacon of light and an embodiment of love, whose spirit will continue to inspire us all.
