Rodney Fitzgerald LaGrone was born on December 30, 1963. He was the youngest son of Jacqueline Hall LaGrone and Charles LaGrone Sr. 

He graduated from Benjamin Bosse High School Class of 1982. Rodney was a member of the Bosse Bulldogs basketball team. He was an avid sports fan, favoring the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed watching old black and white westerns.

Rodney passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Michael W. LaGrone, and grandparents: Brinder Bounds, John and Mary LaGrone, Ophelia Hall Martin, and  Vernal James Hall Sr., who was fondly called "Jack" Hall.

Rodney is survived by his son, Rodney F. Wilson; his grandson, Javier Wilson; his siblings, Cornel LaGrone (Madeline), Lisa LaGrone Sebree (Clifton), Antonio LaGrone, Yolanda LaGrone Clemons(Edward), Vincent LaGrone, Charles LaGrone, Jr., Jennifer LaGrone Kimball (Anthony); Regina Wilson, the mother of his son; great aunt Anna Lee Bailey; Aunt Louise Hall; cousins, Dean Hall and Electra Shane; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
