Robert Lee Alves, affectionately known as “Rob” was born January 28, 1956, to Hardis and Margaret P. Alves in Henderson, KY. With loved ones at his side, Robert went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 8, 2025.
Robert attended Henderson County Schools and graduated from high school in 1974. After graduation, Robert attended Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky, to study Law Enforcement.
Upon return to Henderson, Rob worked for Whirlpool Corporation and as a Kentucky Probation Officer until his health began to fail in recent years.
Rob was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church since childhood. He discovered new interests through his travels and encouraged his niece and nephews to explore as well. He was influential in childhood trips for his nephews. Rob loved Blues music and served on the committee for the W.C. Handy Blues and Barbecue Festival in Henderson.
Rob was preceded in death by his grandparents, Reverend Grant and Mamie Walden; father, Hardis Alves; mother, Margaret P. Alves; and two sisters, Margaret and Betty Alves.
Rob is survived by a brother, Charles Alves of Evansville, IN; a sister, Ruby “Judy” (Frederick) Duerson of Evansville, IN; nephews, Harry Tuck, Jr.(Donya) of Atlanta, GA, Jonas Tuck (Missy) of Indianapolis, IN; and niece, Miesha Baxton of Evansville, IN, in addition to a host of cousins, colleagues, and friends, Rob also leaves to cherish his memory, great nephew, Shavez Tuck, great niece, Shi Tuck and great nephew, Kamri Tuck as well as special friends, Leslie Newman, Michael Mayfield, and Clinton Drennan.
