Listen to Obituary

Pamela Yevett Johnson was born January 19, 1961, to the late Harold Douglas Johnson and Alice Margrette (Buckner) Johnson. On January 24, 2026, Momma received her call to come home to be with the Lord, and at 2:15 p.m., she answered that call with family by her side. Momma professed her faith in Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Rev. Dr. F. P. Miller. Under his watch and her mother's guidance, she began her Christian walk with the Lord. As a mother, she shared her love of Christ and began to lay the same foundation with her two boys that her mother started with her.

Born and raised in Evansville, Indiana, Momma received her education in the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation system. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, completing word and jigsaw puzzles, watching her favorite TV show, helping, and caring for those she loved in any way she could. But, above all, the pride and joy of our mother came from spending time with her seven grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

Our mother had a unique ability to connect with people of all ages. She could fill up a room with her loud, obnoxious, and infectious laughing. Oftentimes being "the life of the party" by making people laugh with her jokes and silly antics. Even if you didn't see her, you knew she was near because you would hear someone call out, "Ironing Board," "Multiball," or the most popular and favorite one of all, "Pam the Ham!"

Although our mother will be forever missed, she will never be forgotten! She will forever live on in our memories and in our hearts. We take comfort in knowing that our mother has found rest in God's arms beside those who have preceded her; her parents Harold and Alice, her brother Ronald, and her sisters Etta and Carrie.

She leaves to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy, two sons (and daughters in love) that she affectionately called "My Boys", Antwan (Cherri), and Duron (Sally); seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of whom she lovingly referred to as "My babies", Ashley, Caleb, Kayla Carwright, Darren, Jalen Cartwright, Kamryn, Aaron, and the leader of the pack Na'Zariah Jazzlyn Gatling.

Momma is also survived by her sisters, Ladonna Dabbs, Danita (Hank) Miles, Peggy, and Angela; her brothers, Terry (Arma), Harold III, Gary (Glenda), Dennis, and Decarlos; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and of course, her best friends since grade School, Danita (Pumkin) Cambers, Rita Johnson, Denise (Ne-Ne) Cook, and Carla Fellows: Bad Girls for Life!
