Listen to Obituary

John Alexander Lisman, 80, transitioned from Earth to Eternity on July 3, 2026, at Park Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Madisonville, KY. John was born in Webster County to Strawther Lisman and Nona Hale. He attended Rosenwald High School and worked for many years at Hudson Automotive.

John was an active and faithful member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church until his health failed him. He enjoyed socializing with his family and friends. A fun-loving soul, John recruited the neighborhood kids for his “army”. It was very common for him to have 20-30 of them following him as they marched around the block with military precision. To this day those kids who are now adults look back over that time with fond memories. John was also well-known in the community by all. From the time that he was a young boy to adulthood, he was always helping anyone in need. Whether it was an elderly lady who needed help carrying her groceries or a passerby needing assistance, John was there to help and he always refused payment.

With unwavering love and devotion, Myra Scott and Kiylon Scott lovingly cared for John Lisman during his final years. They were not only his family but also his caregivers, surrounding him with compassion, dignity, and affection. John was deeply loved and cherished, and the bond they shared will forever remain a treasured part of his legacy.

Left to mourn his loss are, sisters, Lucille and Mary; Kiylon Scott and Myra Scott, who he loved like a nephew and sister; a host of other family, and friends.
