Jeffrey "Corky" Ragland

Jeffrey Tyrone “Corky” Ragland, 59, was born on June 14, 1964, to the late James Ragland Jr. and Evelyn Moorman Ragland in Indianapolis, IN.  Jeffrey departed this earthly life and ascended to heaven on May 7, 2024.

The family moved to Evansville, IN, as a child, which would become his lifetime home.  Jeffrey was educated in the Vanderburgh School Corporation school system.  He attended Dexter Elementary and Reitz High School and graduated from North High School in 1982.  He also played football for North and Reitz High Schools.  He attended College at the University of Southern Indiana (USI).

He was never a stranger to hard work.  Jeffrey was employed at Escalade Sports (Indian Industries) for 23 years and at Pittsburgh Glass Works for 11 years.  He was a Union Steward at both companies. He was passionate about sports; his favorite NFL football team was the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders. He enjoyed watching college basketball, which favored the University of Kentucky.

Jeffrey enjoyed reading books, bowling, and swimming.  His funny, upbeat nature will truly be missed. He loved his family and friends.

Jeffrey leaves to cherish and celebrate his memory: brother, James “Butch” Ragland III; nieces, Jasmine Ragland, Alexa Poindexter, and Danyelle Ragland; nephews, DeCarlo Ragland; great-nephews, Jarvae Ragland, Michael Ragland, Nasir Douglas; great-nieces DeLissa Ragland, Bre’Auri Ragland and a host of extended relatives; aunts, uncles, cousins,  and friends.
