James Alford Walker Jr.

December 8, 1935 — September 13, 2017

James A. Walker, Jr. went home to be with the Lord on 9/13/2017 at Baptist Health in Madisonville. He was born to the late James A. Walker, Sr. and Mae Etta Walker in Gainesville, FL.
James matriculated at Florida A&M University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Economics and Business. He was a member of the famous Marching 100 Band at the university. He later received his Master’s in Business Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
James enlisted in the United States Army as a II Lieutenant serving his country for 8 years.
He retired from Johnson & Johnson Company where he worked predominantly as an Economic Analyst and in the research department. Most of his adult life was spent in East Brunswick, NJ before retiring and relocating to Dawson Springs, KY.
James was a faithful member of Suthards Christian Church. He enjoyed reading and tending to his 50 acres of land. As an avid fan of the sport of Archery, he participated in competitions and won many awards.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Barbara Louise Walker and oldest son, James A. Walker III.
He leaves to cherish fond & loving memories, his children: Patricia Walker, Pamela Walker, Broderick Walker (Netta), Anthony Walker (Salendria Giles); siblings: Kenneth Walker, Doris Welcome; grandchildren: Derrick Walker, Tina Walker, Dominic Riddick, Brian Walker, Jamaine Mathews, Jamea Mathews; 9 great-grandchildren; nieces & nephews: Natalie Cooper, Mc Arthur Cooper, Jr., Alexander McCaskill III, Annissa McCaskill, Alexia McCaskill, Felicia Hall, Lynn Walker, Chris Walker; and a host of cousins and great nieces & nephews.
Services are Saturday Sept. 16, 2017 at 12 Noon at Mason & Sons Funeral Home with visitation on Friday Sept. 15, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. also at the funeral home. Leave condolences at .
