Florence Mae Allen,74, transitioned from Earth to Eternity on January 25, 2024. She was born in Chicago, IL on June 29, 1949, to the late Florence and Charles Allen.  She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in Chicago where she also attended Hyde Park High School. Florence moved back to Evansville in 1991 and began attending Liberty Baptist Church.  She also worked at Newburgh Healthcare as a CNA for several years.

Florence enjoyed reading and watching old movies like Gone with the Wind and TV shows like Perry Mason.

In addition to her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her sister, Charlestine Redmond; and brother, Charles Allen.

Florence was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.  She leaves to cherish her memories, her son, David Allen (Sophia), five grandsons, Dominic J., Dorian J., Xzaviar R., and Isayah V., and Christian A.; sisters, Muriel Reed of Chicago, Evelyn Parkman (James) of Evansville, Wesley Jackson of Chicago.  She dearly loved her two nieces and her nephew, Wanda Cobb, and Nita Pope both of Chicago and Atlas Allen of Evansville. Florence also leaves to mourn her loss, her two best friends, Gloria Johnson, and Kathie Sizemore, both of Evansville.

We give thanks for having Florence in our lives for all the ways she has touched us, for the difficult and happy times we have shared with her.  Her love continues to be with us in our sadness and with thanksgiving, we will remember her.  Lord in your love hear our prayer.
