Donald "Bookie" Jeffrey Craig, 63, of Louisville, KY, formerly of Evansville, IN, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025. Born on March 30, 1962, in Evansville, IN, he was the beloved son of the late Betty Craig and Donald Eugene Craig.
Donald Craig was a proud graduate of Benjamin Bosse High School (Class of 1980), Donald served honorably in the U.S. Navy before pursuing his passion for culinary arts, earning a degree from Ivy Tech in 2021. He was a talented chef, he also embraced entrepreneurship as a skilled jewelry maker, blending his love for fashion and creativity.
An avid sports fan, Bookie cheered passionately for the New York Yankees, Baltimore Ravens, Milwaukee Bucks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Michigan Wolverines. He was a master of the grill, known for his legendary BBQ, and brought laughter to every gathering with his quick wit and love for socializing.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Donald E. Craig, and his sister, Sherri Connors. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Renee Nicole Johnson (Edward); his brother, Thomas Craig (Kia); his sisters, Natalie Pace, Doretha Johnson; his grandchildren, Jaynae Miller, Raquel Miller, and Dominic Miller; special friends, Colleen Baxton, Keley Butler-Hall, and Gevett Darnell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends who will forever remember his vibrant spirit.
