Deborah “Sissy” Bowman, born on July 2, 1951, in Henderson, Kentucky, to Emma Louise Tyler-Dixon and William C. Dixon, departed this life on May 15, 2025.
Sissy, as she was lovingly known, professed her faith in Christ at an early age at Greater Norris Chapel Baptist Church. Throughout her life, she embodied the spirit of service, dedicating over 20 years as a caregiver for her husband until his passing.
In her leisure time, Sissy found joy in sitting on her porch, surrounded by the laughter and love of family and friends, particularly cherishing moments spent with her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her two daughters, Melody (Steve) Calhoun and Denise Michele Adams (Floyd); her bonus daughters Angela Gilbert and Damita Thompson; bonus son Mark Gilbert; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and beloved cousins Evette Floyd, Amber Gilbert, Yvonne Allen, Terry Tyler, and Carl Tyler. Alongside them are a host of other loving relatives and friends who will deeply miss her presence. Deborah “Sissy” Bowman will be remembered for her unwavering love, her nurturing spirit, and the warmth she brought to all who knew her.
