David Lee Rockmore jr

October 1, 1952 — November 29, 2017

David Lee Rockmore, Jr., 65, went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 29, 2017 in his home. He was born to David Lee Rockmore, Sr. and Addie Cooper Rockmore in Melvina, Mississippi. David moved to Evansville from Peoria, Ill in the early 90’s to take a job as chef at the Evansville Petroleum Club. He worked there until his health prevented him from doing so, but because of his love for cooking, he continued to cook for friends and family. David was a handy person and could repair practically anything around the house. He also loved growing flowers in his flower garden. He was a member of Nazarene Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a sister: Alice Rockmore; brother: William Edward Rockmore; grandson: Jhor’Dun Merriweather.
He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories his wife of 25 years Wanda Rockmore; ex-wife: Shirley Rockmore; sons: Darron Rockmore (Tracy), Don Rockmore, David Skinner, Anthony Rockmore, Lamont Smith; daughters: Sharnell Rockmore-Miller (Jamarcus), Patricia Rockmore, Diashall Skinner, LaShonda Skinner, Jazzmine Rockmore, Cierra Rockmore and Toni; sister: Daisy Mae Williams (David); brothers: John Rockmore (Beatrice), La’Velle Rockmore (Sarah), Larry Rockmore, Eugene Hubbard; Auntie: Gloria Moore; Uncle: Bruce Adams; grandchildren: Lachontierra Skinner, Jevarious Rockmore, LaQuondria Lloyd, Zha Quondria Estes, Jkari’Yun Skinner, Shkariyun Fox, La’Kiyah Lloyd, Brandon Estes, Shayla Horsley, Zahavia Horsley, Shondreana Skinner, Ce’Nheceia Skinner, Rha’Nyha Merriweather, Xavier Rockmore, Divarious Rockmore; additional grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts & uncles.
