Catherine Louise Miller, age 65, transitioned from Earth to Eternity on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital. Known affectionately as Cathy, she was educated within the Evansville Vanderburgh County School System and attended Bosse High School. She was baptised and joined Liberty Baptist Church at an early age. Later in her life, Cathy moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, where she became an active member of Powerhouse Church of Jesus Christ, particularly enjoying the Bible Study class.
During her time in Raleigh, Cathy married Major McQueen, who helped her raise her son Marcus, daughter Tiffany, and granddaughter Kiera. Family was at the heart of Cathy's life, and her love kept them united. After many years as a dedicated stay-at-home mother, Cathy was proud to serve the Raleigh School System as a school bus driver, a role she held with great pride and commitment.
In 2016, following the passing of her beloved grandmother, Katherine Swope, Cathy returned to Evansville. Health challenges she developed while living in Raleigh prevented her from working, but she found joy and comfort in spending time at home with her grandchildren and family.
Cathy’s outings were mostly limited to trips to the grocery store or browsing around Walmart with her good friend, Phyllis Brown. She cherished these simple moments and valued their companionship.
Cathy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Katherine Miller Swope & Joe Swope and Robert, Sr. & Mary Miller; her great-grandparents, Raymond & Catherine Hale; five great-uncles, Raymond, Jimmy, Jessie, Homer, and Oscar; two nephews, Travis & Marcel; niece, Chloe; and cousins, Julius and Jimmy Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Marcus Hansford, daughter Tiffany (Arthur) Hall; grandchildren, Kiera & Miya Hansford, Roman, Daniel, & Steven Hall; great-grandchildren, Malachi & Nijay Hansford; mother, Phyllis Miller; brothers, Carlos Miller, Gary (Cecelia) Miller, and Eric Miller; uncles, Robert Miller Jr., Carl Moody, Mark Miller, and David Miller; aunts, Sherry Swope, Althea Bennett, and LaDonna Miller; great-aunt, Bettina Bennett; nine nephews and nieces; her special friend, Phyllis Brown; and a host of cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.
