Barbara Gail Scott

Barbara Gail Scott, 61, peacefully took her last earthly breath on July 24, 2026. She was born on June 5, 1965, to the late Joe H. Scott, Sr. and Barbara Wright Scott in Greenville, Mississippi, where she was educated and graduated from high school. Gail was the 3rd of eight children and lived a life full of joy and happiness with her beloved family.

Gail began her career as a cook, continued in that role throughout her life, and found joy in preparing meals as a self-taught cook.

Gail was blessed to welcome her only daughter, Barbara La’Trice Scott, into the world. Their mother-daughter bond was strong and filled with love. Gail’s presence could light up a room with her beautiful smile. She was full of energy and always on the move. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished, and she will be truly missed.

In addition to her parents, Gail is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Joe and Lillie Mae Wright; one nephew; and one aunt.

Left to cherish Gail’s memories are daughter, Bargara La’Trice Scott; 2 grandchildren; 4 sisters, Jacqueline (Lewis) Thompson of Fredericksburg, VA, Sherry (Wiley) Adams of Evansville, IN, Shilisa Harper of Henderson, KY, and Alfreda Harper of Memphis, TN; 3 brothers, Joe H (Jeanetta) Scott, Jr of Chicago, IL, Mark (Lisa) Scott of San Diego, CA, Marvin (Jill) Scott of Evansville, IN; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
