Alvin Moore, 73, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025 at his home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was born on June 4, 1952 in Earlington, Kentucky to the late Talmadge and Ruby Ann (Vanleer) Moore (deceased).
Alvin graduated from Earlington High School in May 1970; and was a member of the 1967 Earlington High School Yellowjackets Boys K.H.S.A.A. State Championship Team. He attended Motlow State Junior College in Tennessee, where he and his twin brother were recognized with several awards prior to their graduation in 1972. Alvin graduated with an Associate of Science degree. He went on to attend Findley College (Ohio) where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in June 1974.
Alvin began his teaching career in September 1974 in the Columbus Public Schools System (Ohio) where he taught several business-related classes. He eventually moved to Milwaukee during the Summer of 1975 where he continued his teaching career in the Milwaukee Public Schools System until his retirement in May 2013. During this time, he furthered his education by receiving a Master of Education degree from National Louis University (Illinois) in June 1997.
Alvin enjoyed traveling, spending time with loved ones, reading, and doing research.
Alvin leaves to cherish his memory two daughters (Karla and Marla); two grandchildren (Chris and J.Denise); a significant other (Gloria); two brothers (Charles and Calvin); four sisters (Jessie Mae, Freddie Jean, Bertha and Marilyn/Maryland); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, colleagues, and friends. He was preceded in death by three sisters (Brenda, Carolyn and Lou).
Funeral services for Alvin will be held at 12:30 PM on Monday, January 5, 2026 at Krause Funeral Home, 9000 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with a public viewing from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. A second funeral and final burial service will occur later in the month in Kentucky.
