Albert Thomas Springfield was born on February 25, 1946, in Hopkins County, Kentucky to the late Louise Cunningham Wilkes and Henry Thomas Springfield. He quietly departed this life on July 4, 2026, at Brighton Corner Stone Healthcare.
Albert attended Branch Street School and Rosenwald High School. He was a quiet, gentle man with a heart to help all those he encountered. He traveled around the country, living in cities like Las Vegas and Louisville, where he worked a variety of jobs as a roofer and a welder for several companies. His last place of employment was at Tyson Foods, where he worked in the plant.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Mertl Springfield, Hazel Wilkes, and Kathy Wilkes; two brothers, Eugene Word and Clyde Wilkes.
He leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Samantha Springfield; four sons, James Kimbrew, Albert Springfield, Jr., Timothy Springfield, and Darryle Springfield; four sisters, twin sister Mary Springfield Frazer, Ruby Ford, Clara Wilkes Moore, Myra Wilkes all of Madisonville; two brothers, Henry Springfield of Ohio, and Russell Lee Wilkes of Earlington; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
