Albert Lamar Green, born on August 16, 1947, in Henderson, Kentucky, passed away on October 17, 2025, in his hometown. Albert was the cherished son of the late George Albert Green and Ora Agnes Allen Green. He dedicated many years of his life to his work at Silgan (formerly American) in Evansville, where he built a solid reputation in the community before retiring in 2014.
A devoted member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Henderson, Albert found great joy in attending St. Paul Baptist Church alongside his late wife, Barbara Ann Green. Over the years, Albert cultivated a passion for activities that brought excitement and camaraderie into his life, including playing and watching basketball, discussing cars and sports, and spending quality time fishing with family. He relished the long rides taken with Barbara and their grandchildren, each journey adding more treasured memories to their family history. Albert had an innate ability to connect with people, marked by his friendly demeanor. He was known to never meet a stranger, often engaging with new acquaintances and forming friendships wherever he went.
Albert will be lovingly remembered by his family, including his daughter, Rachel Johnson; his son, Alex Lamar Green; his granddaughter, Keishana Rashae Johnson; and his great-grandsons, Joshia Lamar Anthony Johnson and Elijah Lamar Johnson. He is also survived by his brothers Burtis Green and George Green, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Albert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Ann Green; his sister, Anna Green; and his brother, Richard Parnell Green.
