Adrian Darnell Brown, of Louisville, Kentucky, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
Adrian was born on July 30, 1985, in Madisonville, Kentucky, to Karen Brown and Bradley Drake. At a young age, he professed his love for Christ at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Earlington, Kentucky, where he remained a member until relocating with his family to Louisville, Kentucky in 1999.
Adrian was a 2004 graduate of Bluegrass Challenge Academy in Fort Knox, Kentucky. Following graduation, he proudly enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 17. During his service, he was stationed aboard the USS George Washington in Norfolk, Virginia.
Affectionately known by his family as “Slow Motion” and “Rev.,” Adrian was a person whose presence brought joy to all who knew him. To know Adrian was truly to love him. From a young age, he demonstrated a deep connection to his faith, often playfully conducting church services with his cousins, assigning them roles as deacons and choir members while singing hymns such as “I Love the Lord, He Heard My Cry.”
Adrian had a special love for children that never went unnoticed. He was known for his caring and nurturing spirit, often serving as a trusted caregiver for his younger cousins, friends’ children, and many others. He was affectionately known to them all as “Uncle Bubba,” a name that reflected the warmth and love he shared so freely.
Adrian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leon and Dora Brown, and his stepfather, Leo Scisney.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Karen R. Brown of Jeffersonville, Indiana; his father, Bradley L. Drake, Sr. of Madisonville, Kentucky; four sisters, Deja L. Brown of Louisville, Kentucky, and Shareese Leonard, Tayon Reynolds, and Damera Reynolds, all of Madisonville, Kentucky; and four brothers, Dorann Johnson and Bradley L. Drake, Jr. of Owensboro, Kentucky, Brandon Hightower of Henderson, Kentucky, and Quintin Reynolds of Madisonville, Kentucky.
He is also survived by his special nieces and nephew, DeAsia L. Moore and Journee Brown of Louisville, Kentucky, and Zion A. Jennings of Louisville, Kentucky, along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
