Vennetta graduated from Bosse High School where she excelled as a student. She worked in the school office as a clerk during those years and often typed and graded papers. She was one of the first girls of color to become a Bengie Babe.

Vennetta moved to Dallas, TX in 1982 and began working as the Office Manager at Brooks Brothers of New York for several years. In 1987, she relocated to North Elizabeth, NJ where she worked in the corporate office for Torcon Construction Broker as an Executive Assistant to the company President. She coordinated with Project Managers building skyscrapers, banks, hospitals, bridges, and corporate offices throughout New Jersey.
