Rosey Hendrix

Rosie L. Hendrix was born October 11, 1931, to the late Reverend James Tidwell and Josie (Lear) Tidwell in Sturgis, Kentucky. She departed this life on June 12, 2021, having fought a good fight, kept the faith, and finished with honors. She was a member of New Life Christian Center in San Antonio, Texas. Her foundational Christian journey was at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Earlington, Kentucky. She later united with Lively Stone Church of God in Christ and remained for many years until she relocated to Texas in 2012 to live with her daughter and son in love.
She attended J. W. Million School and retired from Hopkins County Hospital. She was married to the late Reverend Frank E. Hendrix and five children were born to this union.
If you knew her well, you would know her mantra was “When I think of the goodness of Jesus and “ALL” he had done for me, my soul cries out Hallelujah. I thank God for saving me.” She loved the Lord and the Word. Moreover, she lived it! She had a passion for baking, performing “The Creation” by James Weldon Johnson and enjoying family time.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Otha (Tid), Eura Lee (Jimmy), Cortie (Juni); 2 sisters; Mary Stafford and Agnes Frazier; 2 sons (James Wilbert and Edward Lee); two stepdaughters (Linda McNary and Bettye Morrow) and 1 son-in-love; Dennis Wooldridge. Se leaves to cherish her memory tow sons: Robert M. Young and Lawrence Hendrix; 2 daughters: Cheryl Hendrix and Mary Hendrix Wooldridge; two stepdaughters: Sandra (Jack) Burke and Donna Hargrove. She also eaves 3 brothers: William (Mossy), Albert and Ronnie Tidwell and 1 sister: Joyce Marie Tidwell Johnican. There are many grandchildren and even more great grandchildren!
