February 6, 1951 - August 12, 2015

Melvin Leon Hall, I, age 64, of Evansville IN was called home Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. He was born in Hopkinsville, KY but was raised in Clarksville, TN. Melvin was a Master Mason at the lodge in Clarksville. For over 40 years, he had a passion for his work and helping people. He was a firefighter, EMT, security guard, first responder, and a storm watcher. He was an active member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and served as the leader of the Greeters' Ministry. He was greeted in Heaven by his father, Myles Hall, Jr.; his daughter, Mitzi Duvall; and his granddaughter, Tiauna Boger. He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving wife of 34 years, Cora J. Hall; his mother, Annie Love Hall; his brothers, Kenneth (Carolyn), Ricky (Denise), and Ronnie Hall; his sister, Wanda Crowder; his aunts, Delores Dinwiddie and Margaret Harris; his uncle, Lloyd E. (Joan) Burney; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. He leaves to promote his legacy, his children: Lisa (Calvin) Shaw, Kimberly Duvall, Cayawnta (Lamont) Smith, Melvin (Kayla) Hall, II; his 10 grandchildren; and his 7 great-grandchildren. Friends and family may pay their respects Friday, August 21, 2015 from 2-5pm at Mason Brothers Memorial Chapel or from 6-8pm at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Rabon L. Turner will officiate the funeral services Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 10am at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. A graveside service will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family would like to thank the doctors, staff, and affiliates of Deaconess Gateway Hospital for the loving care given to Melvin.
