Mary Nettie Doyle

November 3, 1947 — August 24, 2015

Mary Nettie Hancock Doyle was born November 3, 1947, from the union of John Wesley Hancock and Ora Lee Shoutz Hancock. On August 24, 2015, God gave her rest from her earthly suffering; spiriting her away to her heavenly home.
Mary professed her belief in Christ at an early age joining St. Paul Church and then First Freewill Baptist Church where her grandparents attended and her grandfather pastored. She busied herself with the work of the Lord by participating in numerous choirs throughout her lifetime. She was a member for many years of a singing group that her mother, Mrs. Ora Lee Cabell founded, called the “Spiritual Tones”. Later she was asked to join the group “Annointed Revelation” founded by James Bradford, Jr. Mary received various awards and recognition during her lifetime as a member of these groups. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as her children; teaching them about the Lord and music. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh and talk with friends and family. Mary always encouraged family and friends to come and serve at the house of the Lord.
In addition to her mother, Mary was preceded in death by her father, John Wesley Hancock; stepfather, Otho Cabell; grandparents Reverend and Mrs. James L. Shoutz; two brothers: Danny Hancock and LaMont Cabell, Sr. and one great nephew, Devin Patrick. Mary is survived by her husband, Rev. James Doyle; one son: George Anthony Johnson, Jr. (April Glassco-Grigsby) of Henderson; three daughters: Tonya Lee Johnson (Jeffrey Trice) and Crystal Nicole Savage, both of Henderson and DeVonna Kay Johnson Jackson (Dearl Jackson) of Chicago, IL.; 7 Step-children; one sister, Margaret Brooks and one brother LaVon Cabell, Sr. both of Henderson; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, four nieces and three nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
