Margaret Hawkins

Margaret E. Hawkins, 89, passed January 7, 2021 at Baptist Health. She was the youngest child of the late George and Golden Hines.

After graduating from high school, Margaret went on to work for Outwood Nursing Home and Providence Plastics Factory for many years. As a mother of the church, Margaret was a very active member of Simpson Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She once served as the church treasurer. Margaret was also an Usher, member of the Missionary Society, the Willing Workers Club, the General Anderson Relief Core, and a member of the Providence Community Choir. She also enjoyed bowling as a member of a bowling team in Madisonville and loved to fish.

In addition to her parents, Margaret is preceded in death by her husband: James Hawkins, Jr.; siblings: Georgia Lee Norman, James Hines, Lucille Eaves, John Hines, Dorothy Hopson, Nellie Courtney.

She is survived by her children: Bobby (Shelia) Hawkins, Marvin (Nora) Hawkins,Linda Young; grandchildren: Teresa, Marvin Jr., Anja, Ellernor, Bridget, Damien, and Maria; great grandchildren: Brente, Jaden, Tiarrah, Jayden, Damien, Jr.; great great-grandchildren: Brielle and Brenton; and a host of other family and friends.

Private Service is 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Simpson Chapel
Cumberland Presbyterian Church with a public walk- thru visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service. Burial in Cumberland Hill Cemetery.
