Maevella Louise Hopson

Maevella Louise Hopson, 63, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 31, 2017 with her loving family at her side. Maevella was born December 6, 1953 in Providence, KY to the late George and Dorothy Hopson. She fought many battles with illness but she never lost her smile. She loved gospel music and loved to sing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Missionary Dorothy Bass, Missionary Yvonne Reynolds; her only daughter: Kimberly Shawntae Hopson; two nephews: Elder Tony Hutcherson, Wayne Reynolds; and one great nephew: Mitchell McElroy, Jr.
Maevella Hopson leaves to cherish her memory, one sister: Missionary Brenda Drake (Ali); three brothers: George Hopson, III (Laverne), David Hopson, Sr. (Denise), Minister Keith Hopson (JoAnn); one aunt: Margaret Hawkins: two great aunts: Eula Holloman and Ruby Leavell; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services are Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Marable Temple COGIC with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Burial in Williams Cemetery in Providence. Mason & Sons Funeral is entrusted with arrangements. Leave condolences at www.masonbrothersfs.com .
