Lena Beatrice Stone, age 78, of Madisonville KY passed away Monday, June 22, 2015.
Lena was born to Sarah Hale and Andrew Morris on March 9, 1937 in Madisonville KY. She graduated from Rosenwald High School in Madisonville. Lena retired from General Electric after 27 years of service. She was a member of Gough Tabernacle AME Zion Church.
Lena was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Morris and Sarah Hale; stepmother Zadie Mae Morris; a brother, William Morris; a sister, Francis Clark; and a son, William Stone.
She is survived by her children: Larry Stone of Earlington KY, Greg (Tonya) Stone
of Danville VA, David Stone of Indianapolis IN, Betty Morris of Earlington KY,
Wendell Rivers of Earlington KY, Lisa Stone of Clarksville TN, and Melissa
(Lester) Wells of Madisonville KY; 13 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Earlington. Burial
is in Oakwood Cemetery in Earlington. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at
the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Mason & Sons Funeral Home,
Madisonville.
