Larry W. Martin

Larry Martin, son of Odell and Helen Martin, was born on September 2, 1949 in Earlington, KY. He passed away on October 7, 2015.

Larry, the third of six children, graduated from Earlington High School and was a member of the Kentucky State High School Basketball Champions of 1967. He attended Western Kentucky Technical School in Paducah, KY.

Larry resided in Belleville, IL for 18 years where he was employed at Zeigler Coal Mine. He retired from Zeigler after 25 years of service.

He leaves to cherish fond memories his wife, Joyce Martin of Belleville IL; one son, Trent Martin of Madisonville KY; three daughters: Tennille Martin of Louisville KY, Kacy Leavelle of Wilder KY, and Jackie Laws of Sparta IL; two stepsons: Terrance Black of Sparta IL and Orlando Black of Eugene OR; three grandsons: Preston Leavelle of Wilder KY, Jamall Laws of Sparta IL, and Kavon Black of Sparta IL; three granddaughters: Talashiea Martin of Madisonville KY, Jamele Martin of Hopkinsville KY, Kalaya Black of Sparta IL; two brothers: Wendell (Brenda) Martin of Madisonville KY and Kenneth Martin of Madisonville KY; two sisters: Carolyn Martin Coleman of Louisville KY and Debra Jean Martin of Madisonville KY; one aunt, Wendall Torain of Madisonville KY; one God-daughter, Lori Rowell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
