Karen Elaine Swope

Karen Elaine Swope went to heaven with her Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at home. Karen is preceded in death by both parents: Damon and Esther Miller; spouse: Josh (Skipper) Swope; brothers: Damond (Mony) Miller, Phillip Miller; sisters: Brenda D. Fingers and Doris (Joanne) Douglas.
Karen was a loving person who loved the Lord. She was involved in her church, Nazarene Missionary Baptist, under Pastor Larry Rascoe where she was a faithful elementary teacher of Children’s Church and taught in the Women’s Studies department. She attended St. Benedict's Elementary School, Rex Mundi High School, and received an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts (Cum Laude) from Ivy Tech. Karen encouraged so many and was a great friend with a wonderful sense of humor. Karen was a walking miracle as she received a heart transplant in 2000 and God blessed her for 22 years of new life.
Karen is survived by her sons: Shaun (Emily) Swope and Timothy (Sheena) Swope; grandchildren: Katorion Johnson, Timothy Swope Jr, Isaiah Swope, Tyler, and Kyndall Swope; brothers: Brian Miller, Vaughn Johnson; nieces: Addrianne Miles, Ursala Joy Manley, Tanesha Douglas; Nephews: Troy Miller, Lyron Miller, Jamal Swope, Jawan Jones, Dion Fox, Wille “Tre” Fox, Korey Miles; beloved family friend Rebecca (Aunt Becky ) Douglas and a host of family and friends who loved her dearly.
