Jean Taylor Reid was born April 6, 1929 in Livermore KY to Columbus Taylor and Pearl Holbrook. She departed this life on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.
Jean graduated from Lincoln High School (Class of 1947) and also attended the University of Evansville (formerly known as Evansville College). She retired from St. Mary’s Medical Center after providing 50 years of service as a nurses’ assistant.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Reid, and her mother, Pearl Pendleton.
She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Larry Ross of Evansville IN; a daughter, Krista Hawkins (Danny) of Newburgh IN; a sister, Barbara Sebree of Indianapolis IN; an uncle, Otha “Jack” Holbrook of Owensboro KY; six grandchildren: Kimberly Jenkins (Kevin), Laurence Ross (Jocelyn), Michelle Ogbogu (Bright), Nicole Coleman (Willie), Imani Hawkins, and Payden Hawkins; eight great-grandchildren; and a life-long best friend, Florence Fleming.
