Helen Juanita Byrd

Helen Byrd, 88, passed away October 7, 2020 at her residence. She was born October 14, 1931 in Evansville, IN to the late Hayward Borgan and Amanda Williams Borgan. Helen was a long-time member of Zion Baptist Church where she enjoyed attending Sunday worship services.
Helen worked at DeJong’s Department store. She enjoyed shopping and as a great admirer of fashionable clothes, she had the figure to wear them. Helen was a loving & caring mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt who devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. Spending time with her family was her favorite activity. She especially enjoyed the holidays and family meals together.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by children: Geno Rankin, Michale Rankin, Desi Rankin, Regina Rankin; brothers: Fletcher Borgan , Estellee Borgan ; sisters: Minnie Borgan, Jewryce Borgan, and Gail Vails Butler.
Left to cherish her memory are sons: Dwayne Rankin, Fletcher Byrd; daughters: Belinda Landers, Lanita Rankin, Tracena Rankin (Ronnie Mc Lain), Megan Rankin, Debra Roach (Toshio); brother: Donald Borgan (Patricia); niece: Janoris Johnson(Calvin); and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family.
