Harold Moore Thomas

Harold Moore Thomas, was born June 5, 1939, in Evansville, Indiana to Rev. Richard Alvin and Gwendolyn (Maddox) Thomas. He was the 2nd born of twelve children. He gave his life to Christ at an early age and joined Cleaves Memorial CME Church. He passed on July 28, 2020, at age 81, due to his battle with pancreatic cancer.
At age 8 he was a member of the Thomas Melody Harmonizers, a traveling singing group with three of his Brothers, an Uncle, and his Dad, and they recorded a record.
Harold attended Lincoln School up to 8th Grade. He then attended and graduated from Central High School, Evansville, IN. During his high school years, Harold played Football as the star running half-back and he participated on the Central Track team. Harold could accomplish anything he put his mind to do. He was smart, bold, innovative, intelligent, unique, witty, and talented, with a warm and great sense of humor.
After Graduation he moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where he met and married the love of his life, Beverly Thomas, and they celebrated 60 wonderful years of marriage. And to this union, 4 beautiful children were born. He was a loving husband and a devoted father. He was a strong leader and role model for his family. Harold loved the Lord, his family, extended family, church, and his community. He became a faithful member of the Forest Hill Presbyterian Church in Cleveland Heights. . He inspired, encouraged, and touched many lives.
Harold worked and retired from the United States Post Office, and then moved on to work for the Cleveland City Schools as the Director of Maintenance, were he retired again and this time for good. He was a member of the Shriners Fraternity Organization and supported the Shriners Hospitals for Children. He loved playing Golf and Bridge with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Richard Alvin and Gwendolyn Thomas; Daughter; Karla Nicole Thomas; and Granddaughter; Cidney N. Thomas and Brother; Wayne Thomas.
He leaves to cherish his legacy and memories; his devoted wife Beverly Thomas; two sons: Harold M. Thomas, Jr. ( Deborah) of York, SC, Kevin E. Thomas of Cleveland, OH; daughter: KathyTeamor (Ricardo) of Charlotte, NC; grandsons: Jayson A. Thomas, Karl Teamor, Pablo Thomas (Vanessa), Joshua Thomas (Karie), Dylan Thomas; great grandchildren: Lincoln Thomas and Vida Thomas. three sisters: Diana Thomas Winton, Mary Thomas Davis (Johnny), Rev. Velma Thomas; Seven Brothers: Rev. Leroy Thomas (Atha), Otha Thomas, Timothy Thomas (Lillie), Kenneth Thomas (Etheline), Roland Thomas (Stacia), Jeffery Thomas (Mary), Jerome Thomas; a sister In-law: Dorothy Thomas; and an enormous host of nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
A small family Graveside Service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Cleveland. Arrangements are pending. Local arrangements entrusted to R. Mason Brothers Memorial Chapel. Leave condolences at www.masonbrothersfs.com .
