George Grooms

George Grooms, passed away on Sunday, August 8 at Deaconess Hospital.
George was born to Leora McGill and the late James Grooms on September 18, 1961 in Evansville, Indiana. George was a wonderful loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a friend to many touching the lives of those around him.
He came to know Christ at an early age and attended Little Valley Baptist Church. George went to Lincoln School. He received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Navy.
He worked in Rockport and Evansville, Indiana doing factory work. He loved helping others by doing small jobs until his health started failing him. George made sure that anyone who knew him felt his energy and presence. George had a swagger and gait in his walk, a smile on his face, and knew how to keep things humorous and lively.
George was preceded in death by Rodger Grooms, Frances Norman, Kenneth Leroy Norman, Kathy Norman, Ira Allen Norman, James Grooms, and Paula McGill.
George leaves behind his loving mother: Leora Norman; sisters: Iris Norman and Marian McGill; brothers: Judge Merriweather, Steven Grooms, Lester Norman, and Milton Norman; sons: Javon Grooms, Rasharde Grooms, Rasheed Grooms and his only daughter: Leora (Shell) Grooms; grandchildren; loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
