Carolyn Jean Johnson, 69, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. Jean was born on November 27,1951 in Scott, MS to the late Simon and Frances Johnson.
She confessed Jesus Christ as her Savior. Her early childhood was spent in Detroit, Michigan and the Mississippi Delta area. She attended Stringtown School and later Nugent Center School in Benoit, MS. Jean worked over the years at several restaurants and bars. She also was a bus attendant for EVSC and worked several years at TJ Maxx.
Jean loved to have a great time with family and friends. She was joyful, kind-hearted, and always had a reassuring smile on her face for everyone she encountered. She made life special for all who knew her.
Jean is preceded in death by her twin: Harold Johnson; brother: Bennie and sisters Bernice Clark and Shirley Simpson.
Jean is survived by 2 Children: William Johnson and April Johnson; 2 grandsons: Johnathan Johnson and Cody Johnson; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers: Huard Johnson, Edward Johnson, Simon Jr Johnson., Earnest Johnson, Frank Johnson, and Joe Johnson; sisters: Mary Ann Johnson, Alberta Johnson, Frances Johnson, Joyce Johnson; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Service will be on Friday, February 26, 12:00 p.m. at R. Mason Brothers Memorial Chapel, 1001 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville, IN. Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. until service time. Burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Due to the pandemic, masks will be required and social distancing will be practiced.
