Bobby L. Johnson

Bobby Johnson, 79 of Evansville, Indiana had a peaceful transition on January 21, 2021, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital surrounded by his family.
Bobby was born on August 30, 1941, to Martha Johnson and Ural Johnson in Clarksville, Tennessee.
In his younger years, Bobby moved to Evansville and was raised by his grandparents, Ezmer and Willie Quarles. Bobby graduated from Lincoln High School where he played baseball and basketball. Later, he enlisted in the United States Army from which he was honorably discharged in 1965. At one time, he played on a minor league baseball team.
Bobby retired from Alcoa Warrick Operations and happily enjoyed his retirement. He was a member of Nazarene Baptist Church and served faithfully as a deacon.
Bobby was preceded in death by his sister Gracie Pointer and his brother James (Ricky) Johnson.
Surviving is his loving wife of 52 years, Anita of Evansville; two sons: Craig and Greg Johnson; three sisters: Barbara Berry, Ezmer Yeary, and Sandra “Sam” (Willie) Pulley; one brother: Danny Johnson; sister-in-law: Linda Shanks; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
