Adelle Blair

Adelle was born on July 21, 1921 the oldest daughter of Willie and Mary Ann Greer. She was affectionately known as “Grandma” around the Evansville community. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Blair, her brother Willie Greer, and sister Bertha Mary Sallis.

In the year of 1937 Adelle along with her husband James moved the family to Evansville, Indiana. She was all about family allowing her husband to pursue his dream as a Gospel singer along with family members (cousins), which later became the renowned Blair Gospel Singers. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church for over fifty years. She was responsible for raising 4 generations of grandchildren which was a major goal in her life. Her personal triumph in life was her family, and being a wonderful mother and grandmother to her grand ones.

Celebrating her life and cherishing the many loving memories are daughters: Beatrice Blair Goins (John), Mary Blair Price; sons: Johnnie Blair, DuWayne Blair(Connie Robinson). She leaves to cherish her memory 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren. Adelle will be missed and remembered lovingly by her children and grandchildren.

Services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday Jan. 21, 2017 at New Hope Baptist Church with visitation from 12 Noon until service time. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Leave condolences at www.masonbrothersfs.com .
